There have been a number of superlative performances from superstars like Kawhi Leonard, Damian Lillard and Kyrie Irving in the 2019 NBA Playoffs. And of course, KD has continued to prove why he just might be the best player in the world.

Durant eclipsed the 20-point mark in his 35th straight playoff contest in Game 1 of the Golden State Warriors' Western Conference semifinal against the Houston Rockets. In doing so, he passed Karl Malone for the sixth-longest 20-point streak in playoff history.

Michael Jordan holds the current record for most consecutive playoff games with 20-plus points, with 60 straight games over a four-year stretch between 1989 and 1993. Jordan also holds the second-longest streak (47).

Kevin Durant had actually struggled through Golden State's first two playoff games against the Los Angeles Clippers, averaging just 22 points and six turnovers, including a season-high nine giveaways in Game 2.

But you can only hold the greats down for so long, and Durant absolutely torched the Clippers for the remainder of the series. He averaged 41.5 points over the next four games, including a 50-point explosion in Game 6 to help the Warriors close out the series.

Durant has repeatedly deflected questions about his future (as an unrestricted free agent this summer) and reiterated last weekend that he merely wants to focus on playing basketball.

With Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson somewhat hobbled due to injuries that each sustained in Game 6 against the Clippers, Durant will have to be at his all-world best against the Rockets.
