During most of last night's nail-biting All-Star Game between Team LeBron James and Team Stephen Curry, the Los Angeles crowd was relatively quiet. In comparison to other NBA All-Star games and events in the past, the people in attendance did not appear to be as thrilled by the new All-Star game format or simply the game overall.

Chris Haynes from ESPN noticed it and asked Kevin Durant to comment on the topic after he helped Team LeBron seal a 148-145 victory over the team led by his Golden State Warriors' teammate Steph Curry. The 2017 Finals MVP said:

“I don't know, we was locked in. To be honest, I didn't really noticed it, we were locked in. But I thought towards the end of the game the crowd got into it and you seen the excitement around the, on court-side. And I'm sure up in the stands they were on pins and needles to see who was going to win that game. When ‘Bron made the layup, you know, the crowd went crazy.”

Durant was referring to James' fourth-quarter layup that put Team LeBron up by one point with only 34 seconds remaining in the game. KD acknowledged that given the exhibition nature of the game, the crowd would watch the closest during the fourth quarter:

“People tend to focus more on the fourth quarter anyway. For the first three quarters they, you know, they don't mind getting up, getting a hot dog and coming back and checking the scoreboard in the fourth, when everybody was in their seats waiting.”

The finish was crazy. After taking the lead, James Harden missed a three-point attempt on the other end. His teammate DeMar DeRozan caught an offensive rebound but turned it over seconds later. Team LeBron capitalized on offense, as Russell Westbrook scored a two-point shot that put them up by three in the score.

Team Curry tried getting the ball to their captain, but Steph was quickly trapped by James and Durant. DeRozan missed a heavily contested corner three and the game was over. By now, the crowd was already loud.
