Kevin Durant is riding a wave of outstanding games, seeing his team slowly peaking at the right time as the Golden State Warriors approach the playoffs.

The four-time scoring champion had himself an economic 15 points, making 5-of-7 from the floor, 3-of-4 from deep and converting both shots at the foul line, yet boasting a game-high plus-37 margin after his 29 minutes of action against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Asked to compare this year's team to its past two iterations, Durant could only say how he feels now with the playoffs nearly a week away.

“I feel great right now. I felt great last year. I feel good going into the playoffs,” said Durant, according to ClutchPoints' Ryan Ward. “It’s hard to compare years. Different teams, different settings, different dynamics around the league. It’s kind of hard to compare. I think we are in a good place.”

The Lakers didn't offer much resistance in the first quarter, quickly digging themselves a 27-point deficit despite the myriad of turnovers Durant and company had while running the break.

“Their whole team was missing. It was pretty easy for us to get into a rhythm,” said Durant. “They’re playing a lot of young players, a lot of inexperienced players. I think we took advantage of that.”

The Warriors have responded even with veteran teams, taking every franchise's best shot throughout the course of the season. There is no question as to if this team is battle-tested, but Durant's sense of confidence is telling, even after a run-of-the-mill 15-point night.
