Just like Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant fully supports Colin Kaepernick.

In 2016, Kaepernick started kneeling during the national anthem to protest against racial injustice and police brutality. The 2016-17 NFL season was the last time Kaepernick played in an NFL game, for the San Francisco 49ers.

The quarterback recently agreed to settle with the NFL in his collusion case.

Pretty much every NBA star has supported Kaepernick. Kevin Durant, LeBron James and Kaepernick all have endorsement deals with Nike.

Kaepernick was never disrespecting the military or the national anthem itself with his silent protest. He just wanted to bring attention to the fact that racial injustice and police brutality against minorities continues to happen.

Being in the Bay Area and playing for the Warriors, Durant understands how polarizing a figure Kaepernick is. It's cool to see stars such as KD, LeBron and Stephen Curry support Kaepernick. The more awareness we can bring to racial injustice and police brutality, the better.

Durant and the Warriors have been outspoken in their own way, twice refusing to visit President Trump at the White House after winning the NBA championship.

Like Durant says, there are a lot of people who don't agree with what Kaepernick is doing. The kneeling during the anthem has become a very controversial thing ever since Kaepernick first did it back in 2016. A lot of NFL, players, though, started doing it after Kaepernick did.
