Kevin Durant says he still thinks about the night he tore his Achilles in Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors. The former Golden State Warriors superstar, who is now on the Brooklyn Nets, is expected to miss the entire 2019-20 season.

“Yeah, I still think about that night,” Durant told Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. “Every experience I’ve been through in the league is obviously always ingrained in my mind, but that one is definitely always going to be a huge part of my career because it’s the biggest stage and the type of injury I had. But now I look at it as me just going out there playing basketball, and I happened to get hurt. And now I’m just waiting to get back. I know it’s a huge deal to everybody else, but I just try to take it on the chin and keep it moving.”

If Kevin Durant doesn't suffer the initial calf injury in the second-round of the playoffs against the Houston Rockets, the Warriors likely win their third straight title.

KD was arguably the best player in the world before he suffered the calf strain. The 10-time All-Star and two-time Finals MVP was averaging 34.2 points per game game in the playoffs after he scored 22 points in Game 5 against the Rockets before exiting the game with the calf ailment.

The Warriors are going to miss Durant on both ends of the floor. You don't replace a guy who has career averages of 27.0 points.

As for KD, he's going to take his time in his Achilles rehab. The Nets have already said they won't update the status of Durant throughout the regular-season.
