Golden State Warriors superstar Kevin Durant is set to be an unrestricted free agent this summer, which is no different than his first two years with the team. What's different this time, however, is that the two-time Finals MVP may actually leave.

There has been rampant speculation that Kevin Durant might leave Golden State for a team like the New York Knicks or the Los Angeles Lakers, and in a recent podcast he did with Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, Durant only added fuel to that fire.

First, Durant said his goal was to make as much money as possible on his next deal, an indication that he is giving serious consideration to leaving the Warriors.

Then, Durant said that “nobody” can recruit him anymore and that he wants to “dictate” his own environment.

Remember: Durant was heavily recruited by Warriors players in 2016, with Draymond Green calling him up right after the Dubs had just lost the finals to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Durant has gotten two championships with the Warriors thus far, winning Finals MVP both times. However, things have not been so rosy in Oakland this season, as there have been internal issues between Durant and Green.

Earlier in the season, Green apparently called Durant the “B” word in a locker room argument and said that the Warriors were able to win without the former Oklahoma City Thunder star.

Perhaps, Durant will weigh that on his mind this summer when he hits free agency. So, if KD does end up leaving the Bay Area, the Warriors might have Draymond to thank for it.
