Like most NBA players in the offseason, Kevin Durant is also taking a well-deserved vacation. He is currently in Maui enjoying the beach, and trying an certain watersport during Labor Day weekend.

The reigning Finals MVP was seen trying surfing and was even photographed by TMZ Sports, attempting to stand up on it. He even had an extra long board to fit his tall and lanky body on it, however, he wasn’t successful in doing so, and could only sit on it instead.

He may not have been able to excel in his new hobby, but the enjoyment he had while trying it is what’s important, and that he got to relax with only a few weeks left before the start of the Golden State Warriors training camp. Getting his mind off basketball for now may do him wonders, as not only will he be able to rest his body, but will also allow him to refocus for the next campaign.

Come October, he will return to work together with his teammates, as they start their quest to defend the title they won last June. Surfing may not the best sport he’s ever played, but it’s a completely different story inside the court, as he continues to be one of the elite players in the NBA today.
