Golden State Warriors superstar small forward Kevin Durant likes the vibe of San Francisco and even moved to downtown one year ago to experience the city for himself.

The Warriors are opening their new arena, the Chase Center, next season in San Francisco. Earlier this season, Durant toured the Chase Center in a construction outfit. The nine-time All-Star is a fan of downtown San Francisco, saying it's a chill and relaxing place.

“I wanted to be in the big city and mix it up a little bit,” Durant told The Undefeated's Marc Spears. “It’s close to the (Bay) Bridge and the practice facility and arena (in Oakland). I wanted to try it out. I’ve never lived in a big city before by myself. I wanted to learn more about the flow of the city.

“I just like the vibe. It’s chill. Relaxing. There is not too much going on, but there is still a lot going on. People are pretty cool, open and diverse. San Francisco is one of those cities that is always going to be booming. There is always going to be growth in the city. I guess you can call me a millennial living there now. It puts a different perspective on life.”

As everyone knows by now, Kevin Durant re-signed with the Warriors in July on a one-plus-one deal, meaning he can become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2019 if he declines his 2019-20 player-option with Golden State. The nine-time All-Star will make $30 million this season and $31.5 million for the option year in 2019 if he picks it up. Many expect Durant to decline that option and enter the open market since more money will be available to him.

Durant touring the Chase Center and talking about his love for San Francisco will surely cause people to speculate that he's going to play at least another season with the Warriors. Only time will tell if that is true.
