Kevin Durant has been ruled out of the second game of the Golden State Warriors’ back-to-back against the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday night due to a sprained ankle, ESPN’s Chris B. Haynes reports.

Durant didn’t appear to be slowed by any injury in the Warriors’ 124-116 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday. Durant had 27 points, five rebounds, three assists, two steals, and two blocks in 33 minutes. But the Warriors apparently think his ankle problem is serious enough to not risk him against the Nets.

Durant had previously missed one other game this season. He was absent in the Warriors' matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves due to a quad injury. However, the Warriors didn’t seem to miss the Finals MVP all that much as they blew out the T-Wolves, who were on a five-game winning streak, by 24 points at Oracle Arena.

The Splash Brothers, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, stepped up in Durant’s absence. Curry had 22 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists, while Thompson added 28 points and five rebounds.

Andre Iguodala got the start in that game in place of Durant, and will likely do so again. Omri Casspi, Nick Young, and Patrick McCaw could also see added minutes in Durant’s absence as they did against Minnesota.
