Kevin Durant's mother, Wanda Durant, took to Twitter to thank current and former players, athletes, artists and fans that sent love, prayers and get-well wishes for the Golden State Warriors star after suffering a torn Achilles tendon in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

“Thank you to everyone at home and all over the world for all the love and prayers,” Wanda tweeted early on Thursday. “We truly appreciate your support.

Durant is still recovering after undergoing surgery at the hands of Dr. Martin O'Malley in New York, the same doctor/physician who operated on his Jones fracture in 2015, another injury that tested his durability earlier in his career.

Durant faced plenty of obstacles during his past surgery, experiencing setbacks and a clear urge to return to the floor, ultimately opting to go under the knife and undergo season-ending surgery to repair the fracture on his foot.

This Achilles injury could prove even more challenging, as it could take him from 8-12 months to fully recover from it.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski is expecting the two-time Finals MVP to miss the entire 2019-20 season with this injury, a real blow for a player that's reaching the peak of his athletic career.

There has been an outpour of support and good vibes sent Durant's way, now viewed as a valiant effort to be there for his team and help them overcome a 3-1 deficit against a battle-tested Toronto Raptors team.

Following a Game 5 win, the Warriors will have one last game at Oracle Arena on Thursday, one that will decide if this three-peat attempt will come down to a crucial Game 7 on the road.
