Wanda Durant and Wayne Pratt, the parents of Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant, took aim at those who criticized his son for not coming back early enough to prevent his team from going down in a 3-1 hole.

Durant suffered a devastating Achilles injury in the second quarter of Monday's Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors, sidelining him for the rest of the game — and likely this season and potentially beyond.

Wanda, much like Warriors general manager Bob Myers, claimed those who questioned his desire to play and help his team don't know him — ultimately sharing an optimistic take upon accompanying his son through his medical care:

Pratt also shared some insight after his son's injury — one feared to be a torn Achilles after an extended look in the locker room.

Pratt offered an optimistic outlook for Durant, who was also forced to miss a season with a broken foot:

The 2014-15 season was a dark one for Durant, as he underwent procedures on his foot, rehabilitated, had some setbacks, rehabbed again, got close to returning, then opted for a season-ending surgery before returning the next to have one of his best yet.

Achilles injuries can take from 8-12 months to recover from, depending on the full extent of the damage. While that is still unknown, it's sure to say Durant will miss part of his prime as a basketball player.
