Golden State Warriors star shooting guard Klay Thompson admits he doesn't enjoy guarding Houston Rockets superstar James Harden, and you can't really blame him.
Harden, who leads the NBA in scoring and has an unguardable step-back 3-pointer, has basically mastered the art of drawing fouls and it causes the player who guards him to get frustrated very easily.
“Well, it’s not very fun,” Golden State’s Klay Thompson said of the challenge, via Jeff Zillgitt of USA TODAY Sports.
On the season, James Harden is averaging 36.3 points, 6.6 rebounds and 7.6 assists per game. The reigning MVP is shooting 44.0 percent from the field, 36.7 percent from beyond the arc and 87.1 percent from the free-throw line. The Beard scored at least 30 points in 32 consecutive games.
Klay Thompson is one of the best one-on-one defenders in the league. His 6-foot-7 frame allows him to contest jump shooters and he is agile on his feet as well. If an elite defender like Thompson says it's not fun to guard Harden, you can only imagine what average players are thinking when they have to stick Harden.
Thompson and the Warriors are 0-3 against the Rockets this season. The team isn't that concerned since the regular season doesn't really matter for the Dubs.
