Klay Thompson cherished his opportunity to take part in the 2018 All-Star Game in Staples Center, in front of friends and family in his hometown of Los Angeles.

A fourth-time selection, Thompson has had his share of experiences with the mid-February festivities, but he admitted this indeed was a special one.

“Thank God for pictures and stuff because it goes by so fast while you’re we’re in it,” Thompson said, according to Melissa Rohlin of the San Jose Mercury News. “Now I’m going to look back at this weekend, some of the best times of my life if you think about it. It was awesome and it was so cool to play here at Staples. Hopefully not the last time.”

Thompson got a chance to go head-to-head against a white-hot Devin Booker in Saturday's Three-Point Contest, and even if he fell short of tying the all-time best mark of 28 that Booker had set just before him, it was one of those moments to never forget.

“It’s always a pleasure to be an All-Star and, more importantly, it’s a great honor, especially when you’re here with your teammates,” Thompson said.

The fireworks continued on Sunday, when he laced them up along with teammates Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, this time going against fellow teammate Kevin Durant and Team LeBron, a change that brought the best out of both sides.

“I think it’s a good formula,” Thompson said. “It made for a competitive game and some good matchups.”

“We used to go against each other the first five, six years of my career, but it was different. That was a huge lineup they had too. It was a lot of fun.”

Thompson made a game-high five 3-pointers in the game, finishing with 15 points in a 5-of-11 shooting night, along with four rebounds in a 148-145 loss.
