Not many people would consider Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson as an artist in the conventional sense. His teammate, JaVale McGee, made that mistake during Episode 3 of his “Parking Lot Chronicles.”

Thompson poked a little fun at McGee, who is an aspiring musician, saying a lot of the music he produced was good and a lot was bad. JaVale countered by saying Klay wasn’t an artist, but Thompson pushed back on that sentiment, though.

“I’m an artist in a different way,” Thompson quipped. “I mean, you’ve seen me shoot the ball — that’s art.”

McGee agreed: “I have. That is art.”

Just about anyone who has seen Klay’s jumper will be hard-pressed to disagree that his silky smooth jumper is a work of art. It’s one of the most efficient, effortless shots in NBA history, but that didn’t just happen by accident. Like an artist who toils and works for years to perfect his craft, so has Thompson with his shot.

The artist known as Klay is currently working on his greatest masterpiece yet this season, shooting a blistering 47 percent from beyond the arc and 51 percent from the field, marks which would shatter his previous career highs. That's just further proof that Thompson is truly a master at the art of shooting.
