Golden State Warriors star shooting guard Klay Thompson has been cleared to train without restrictions on his healed left knee, per Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

Thompson tore his left ACL in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals, but he's getting closer and closer to being ready to play again:

Thompson received the final medical clearance a few weeks ago, and he has been ramping up his workouts. The Warriors star is expected to be ready to go for a potential minicamp later in the year.

Klay Thompson was scheduled to miss the entire 2019-20 campaign. The Warriors signed the sharpshooter to a five-year max contract in the summer of 2019, so it made no sense to jeopardize the All-Star's long-term health for one season.

In 2018-19, Thompson averaged 21.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists for the Warriors. The five-time All-Star and three-time NBA champion shot 46.7 percent from the field, 40.2 percent from beyond the arc and 81.6 percent from the free-throw line.

During the 2019 playoffs, where the Warriors lost to the Toronto Raptors in the Finals, Thompson put up 20.7 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. He tore his ACL in the last game ever played at Oracle Arena.

Before the 2019-20 season was suspended, the Warriors had the worst record in the NBA. Golden State won't be among the 22 teams partaking in the “bubble” games in Orlando, Florida.

Whenever the 2020-21 campaign starts, the Warriors should be playoff contenders again. Stephen Curry, Thompson, Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins will take the floor together for the first time as a foursome. The Warriors will also have a top pick in the 2020 draft, unless they trade it for a star.

Dubs fans can’t wait to see Thompson back in the lineup. The Warriors are going to be on a mission next season to prove to everyone that the dynasty isn't over just yet.
