Klay Thompson is closing in on his highly-anticipated return. After two years on the sidelines, it looks like the Golden State Warriors superstar is finally nearing his comeback after clearing one major hurdle in his road to recovery.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic, Thompson will be cleared for full practice in the coming month:

“I'm told Klay Thompson will be cleared for full practice over the next month or so,” Shams said (h/t Stadium on Twitter).

Shams also revealed that in his mind, he believes Thompson could return to action sometime in December or January:

“I would look somewhere in the December-January range for his return,” he said. “But the Warriors will be cautious. … But for him to be cleared for full practice over the next month, that is optimistic news.”

This is obviously a welcome development for the Warriors as they look to bring back their glory days of old. It's been a forgettable past two seasons for the Dubs, but the return of Klay Thompson should certainly serve as a major boost for their chances in 2021-22.

As Shams notes in his statement, however, we should expect the Warriors to act very conservatively with Thompson. He's been out of action for a lengthy period and they would not want to risk another injury. Nevertheless, it's now looking more likely that Klay is able to make his much-awaited return in the first half of the new season.
