Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson is not expected to suit up this season. He's still in the early stages of the long rehabilitation process. But according to his dad Mychal Thompson, things are going as planned and he expects his son to wreak havoc with Stephen Curry once again.

Via Twitter, the elder Thompson welcomed questions about his son who's currently recovering from an Achilles injury. To recall, Klay Thompson suffered the injury during a pickup game in November last year. This tempered the hopes of Dubs fans who believe that the Warriors will return to title contention this season.

Thompson himself spoke to his fans on New Year's Eve. He thanked his fans for always being there, noting that they're the ones who motivate him to get better. Thompson also shared his optimism that the Warriors will be back to playing some elite ball soon.

“But you guys give me so much love and so much inspiration for that video you made me,” Thompson said to Warriors fans in a video posted by his shoe sponsor, Anta.” Reaching out, that really meant a lot. It made me quite emotional, especially post-surgery, and it just inspires me to keep going, which I will. There's so much great basketball ahead for not only myself, but the Warriors, and championships to be played [for] and hopefully won. And with that, I would like to say goodbye to 2020, and we are so welcoming to 2021 for some new, fresh beginnings.”

From the looks of it, all is well with Thompson as both shared by him and his father. Now all Warriors fans need to do is patiently wait for his return.
