During the offseason, Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson inked an eight-year, $80 million extension to remain with Anta, which is a branded sportswear company located in China.

It has taken long for Thompson to be featured in a 24-second shoe commercial marketing his latest footwork, which is the Gold-Blooded Anta KT3 that is set to be released on Oct. 22.

It is quite an out-of-the-ordinary commercial with Thompson sitting in a bathtub in the middle of several pairs of his sneakers while the song “Who Do You Love?” by YG and Drake is playing. This made for an awkward looking setup that only fit in with the series of events that had unfolded during his tour of China in the offseason.

That said, it is a unique way for Thompson to market his shoe that should be a high-selling product in China once they hit the shelves later this month. He has certainly figured it out how to lock up a long-term endorsement deal that should include numerous other opportunities down the line of the contract.

This puts the cap on what was nothing short of an intriguing offseason away from the court for Thompson. There could be much more to come from the All-Star guard down the road following the release of his new shoe.
