The first three games of the playoffs went unimaginably well for Golden State Warriors guard Jordan Poole, recording 27 or more points in each of those contests. Draymond Green said the third-year guard was the No. 1 option in those outings.

Unfortunately in Game 4, the hot streak was cooled down by the Denver Nuggets. Poole got held under 20 points for the first time in the postseason.

Poole finished with 11 points, and Klay Thompson spoke on his behalf after the game.

“Yeah, that’s natural,” Thompson told ClutchPoints. “As much as we would love Jordan averaging 29-30 a game, it’s really, really hard.”

Jordan Poole finished the regular season terrorizing opponents. In March, he averaged a little over 25 points per game, and that rolled right into the playoffs. Although the ball didn't go in the basket the way Poole wanted, he still had a solid game. He dished out a playoff career-high nine assists, barely missing out on his first double-double of the postseason.

“He’s still going to play with great efficiency. He’s still going to be a huge part of what we do,” Thompson added. “We all go through it. We all go through tough shooting nights, or just not feeling like ourselves. That’s just part of the playoffs, and the microscope might get a little bigger. He’s a very tough-minded young man, and he’s going to bounce back next game.”

Game 5 is on Wednesday, at home in the Bay Area. The Warriors are planning to end the Nuggets season, and you should expect a much better version of Poole just like Thompson is anticipating.
