Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson says he will play on Friday when the Dubs host the Denver Nuggets in a battle between the two best teams in the Western Conference.

Thompson missed the last two games because of soreness in his right knee. The Warriors went 1-1 without their All-Star guard.

Golden State defeated the Philadelphia 76ers in Philly and lost to the Boston Celtics at home:

In 61 games this season for the Warriors, Klay Thompson is averaging 22.0 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest while shooting 47.0 percent from the field, 39.6 percent from beyond the arc and 81.5 percent from the free-throw line. It has been yet another stellar season for Klay, who becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Friday is going to be a good game at Oracle Arena. The Warriors have the best record in the West at 44-20, while the Nuggets have the second-best mark at 43-21. This could be a potential Western Conference Finals preview, so expect both teams to be engaged right from the jump.

Golden State is just 5-5 in its last 10 games. Even though they are universally recognized as the best team in the NBA, anytime the Warriors even have a small bad stretch, everyone overreacts to it. The return of Thompson to the lineup on Friday should calm some of the nerves of Warriors fans.
