Klay Thompson made NBA history Monday night by breaking his backcourt mate Stephen Curry's previous mark of 13 for most three-pointers made in a game. The other-Splash-Brother-not-named-Steph knocked down an unprecedented 14 three-pointers in the Warriors' 149-124 romping of the Chicago Bulls on Monday.

However, Thompson did not end his night unscathed. He received two stitches on his forehead right after the contest, as he was seen with a bandaid above his right eye in this post-game interview, per Mark Medina of The Mercury News.

Thompson collided with teammate Damian Jones at some point in the third quarter which busted him open. But this did not slow down the Warriors sharpshooter from having his historic night.

In fact, he even made his 11th and 12th threes on the night with blood flowing down his forehead. He eventually broke the record with two more triples while sporting a headband to cover up the gash, which gave birth to #HeadbandKlay.

Thompson had been on a major slump prior to tonight's contest with the Bulls. He had made just 5-of-36 of his triple tries, or 14 percent from beyond the arc. Despite his early season struggles, everyone, including Thompson, knew that he would eventually break out of his shooting woes.

However, no one could have predicted that sweet-shooting sniper would have an eruption of volcanic proportions like he did last night.

Thompson came out of the gates on fire, dropping six treys in the first quarter. He finished with 10 threes in the first 24 minutes of action, which tied the record for most three-pointers in a half. Thompson ended his historic night with 52 points all in 27 minutes of play. He shot 18-of-27 overall from the field, with 14-of-24 coming from downtown.

Only a few players have the ability to pour it on for an entire night, and Thompson is certainly one of them as this is not the first time we've seen him do something like this. In 2015, Thompson set the record for the most points in a quarter with 37, and also famously notched 60 points in 29 minutes last season.

Put this game in the books as one of those signature Klay games.
