Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson has a great appreciation for the city of Portland.

Thompson played his college basketball at Washington State University. The Warriors guard talked about Portland and the state of Oregon in general.

“I’m like a chameleon, I can adapt to anything,” Thompson said, via the Mercury News. “I do love Portland. I actually don’t mind the rain. I appreciate how green Oregon is. I appreciate the clean air, the trees, all the beautiful landscape and the terrain.”

Despite tolerating the frequent clouds and storms, Thompson did not always stay outside. The overcast weather often prompted Thompson to stay indoors. Then, he discovered his first love on the hardwood.

“It rained so much up there, so I spent so much dang time in the gym because of the rain,” Thompson said. “I’m grateful for it.”

The Warriors play Games 3 and 4 of the Western Conference against the Blazers in Portland. Golden State has a 2-0 lead in the series.

Thompson is averaging 19.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists in the 2019 playoffs. The All-Star guard is shooting 44.0 percent from the field, 41.2 percent from beyond the arc and 95.5 percent from the free-throw line.

With Kevin Durant out, the Warriors have been relying on Stephen Curry and Thompson over the last three games. The Splash Brothers have delivered, like they always do.
