Just in case you were too busy watching kittens on TikTok, the highly anticipated release of Space Jam: A New Legacy went down over the weekend. LeBron James, who grew up watching Michael Jordan and Looney Tunes, fulfilled his childhood dream.

But while all the talk has been on LeBron's starring role in a feature film, his co-star Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors inadvertently found himself grabbing the spotlight from The King.

In what appears to be a genius petty move, one movie theater in Oakland put Thompson, who plays the character Wet-Fire, on the marquee instead of the Los Angeles Lakers great, making him the titular star. This isn't the first time Thompson has bested LeBron for a title (via San Francisco Chronicle's Peter Hartlaub).

It seems some people in Oakland are still bitter about losing to LBJ and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2016 NBA Finals. But most probably, it's just good old ribbing. After all, LeBron has proven that he can take a joke. Hey, if Bugs Bunny can, so does the four-time NBA MVP!

LeBron has been over the moon (or should it be outer space?) following the release of Space Jam: A New Legacy. He's already mentioned several times that he doesn't intend to surpass MJ and the original movie, but it was just a fun opportunity too difficult to pass up.

As expected, he's received a lot of flak from his gazillion of haters, but LeBron James recently threw shade at them after Space Jam: A New Legacy topped the box office. Perhaps Klay Thompson had something to do with it.
