Despite a cold night from the floor, Klay Thompson's day wasn't the worst after being selected to the All-Star Game along with teammate Draymond Green prior to facing the New York Knicks.

Following the 123-112 win, Thompson was asked if he would campaign to be picked by his teammate Stephen Curry during the All-Star Game Draft.

“No, I'm just happy to be there,” said Thompson. “It's an honor to be an All Star. I'll probably request a trade if he doesn't pick me. I'm just kidding [smiles], but it'll be fun.”

“I'm actually pretty excited. I wish they would announce it publicly, because I think it'll be hilarious if we got the last pick, but it's still awesome just to be there, being an All-Star, I don't even care about [being] the last pick, it would just be fun to poke fun at that person.”

The draft will likely be a huge popularity contest, with the captains LeBron James and Curry, now having some sort of obligation to pick their teammates if they're available.

Curry has by far the biggest weight on his back, as he has potentially three sets of eyes hoping to be picked by him while James only has Love to select as part of his squad.

Thompson seemed relaxed during the media session, even getting a bite to eat before the questions started rolling his way.

Regardless of who is selected for what team, this year's iteration should bring a fun twist to the mid-February festivities and hopefully make it a more competitive outing than the last few years, giving them a little more than just bragging rights to compete for.
