The only question that remains in terms of debating the greatest shooting duo in NBA history is who comes in second. The iconic Golden State Warriors tandem of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson have a hold on the top spot that they may very well never relinquish.

But once upon a time the NBA world wasn't as convinced. Even in those days, Mark Jackson already pegged them up there when everyone else wasn't willing to just yet. Way back in 2013, even before the rings and the rise of Warriors mania that was to come, then-head coach Mark Jackson already had Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson as the greatest shooting backcourt at that very moment.

The early belief in the Splash Brothers has not been lost on Klay Thompson. In his recent interview during the Warriors-Pelicans game on ESPN, he paid homage to his former coach on live TV.

“Before anybody else, anybody believed in us, coach Jackson did,” said the Warriors shooting guard. “And he called me and Steph the greatest shooting duo of all-time and that couldn't have come more true. That's kind of a testament for your ability to read the game. They called you crazy at the time.”

There were a handful of naysayers at the time firing back at Mark Jackson for crowning his players too early. But the man clearly knew what he was saying.
