Last week, the Golden State Warriors made the surprise move of inking All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins to a one-year, $5.3 million deal.

It has given the Warriors an even more star-studded starting lineup that features All-Stars at each position that has seemingly created more buzz around the back-to-back defending champions. All-Star guard Klay Thompson has chimed in on that taking to social media to air his excitement about what may ahead of Cousins' arrival in Golden State.

There could be plenty of lobs thrown Cousins way once he gets back on the court at some point next season. He will have the extreme benefit of playing alongside three of the best shooters in the league that will open up many opportunities in the paint for him to take advantage of matchups and high-percentage scoring situations.

The only question at this point is what kind of player he will be once he returns from a torn Achilles tendon. It is typically an injury that alters the trajectory of a players' performance due to the lack of the same physical explosion that was there prior to the ailment. At the same time, there isn't any major pressure for him to come back sooner than he will be physically ready to do so and won't have a tremendous workload on his shoulders on top of that that could put a strain on his body.

Cousins will foreseeably experience struggles with getting back into form as he will have to knock off the rust of being off the court against opponents and once again get used to the physical nature that comes with the territory. It is the best situation that he could have chosen to not put too much pressure on himself to perform at an elite level out of the gate while competing for an NBA title.
