Klay Thompson wasn't satisfied with the officiating during a closely-contested battle with the streaking Boston Celtics, that ended in a 92-88 loss for the Golden State Warriors.

Thompson committed three fouls in the fourth quarter, all on Kyrie Irving — his primary defensive assignment. Irving free-throwed his way to a victory, making seven of them in the fourth quarter after missing his first two shot attempts of the period.

“He got to the free-throw line, he beat me in a backdoor play — that's inexcusable,” said Thompson post-game. “I guess I can't foul (smiles)… I gotta give him more space when he drives, I guess, so that's what I'll do next time.”

Klay Thompson's defensive plan had worked along nicely for the first three quarters, as he stayed connected to Irving during screen plays off the ball and attached to him during isolation opportunities — like a moth to a flame — holding him to 2-of-12 shooting through three quarters.

But the tactic fell apart, as Kyrie Irving got the calls when they counted, scoring 11 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter.

Thompson's teammate Draymond Green didn't have much to say about it following the game after the Celtics connected in all 12 of their free-throw attempts in the final period.

“Does it matter at this point?,” he said.
