Klay Thompson had broken the NBA record set by Golden State Warriors teammate Stephen Curry with his 14th 3-pointer against the Chicago Bulls Monday night.

Thompson entered the contest averaging an atrociously sub-standard 15.1 points per game on 13.9 percent shooting from 3-point distance. The Warriors have managed to stave off Thompson's shooting woes thanks to scorching performances from both Curry and Kevin Durant.

But as they say, once a shooter, always a shooter. This was bound to happen. Thompson was a cinch to finally hit his mark. But no one expected the All-Star guard to break out of his slump in this manner.

To begin with, Thompson was already firing on all cylinders en route to a record-tying first half where he canned in 10 three-pointers. As ESPN's Nick Friedell noted, it tied Chandler Parsons' record.

The Warriors also made NBA history when they finished the first 24 minutes of play with a whopping 17 makes from long distance.

The Warriors pummelled the Bulls in the first half, scoring 92 points on their traumatized opponents. Even crazier is the fact that Klay Thompson did all these in 25 minutes of action. Steve Kerr decided to pull his ballistic ward out of the game before the third quarter had ended.

Thompson finished his night with 52 points on 18-of-29 shooting from the field.
