The Golden State Warriors got bounced in the play-in tournament after a huge performance from Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies. In all, it was a good season, especially considering Klay Thompson missed the entire campaign after tearing his Achilles in November. The talented duo of Stephen Curry and Klay– famously dubbed the Splash Brothers– should be back on the court for the 2021-2022 season, bringing fear to opposing teams across the league.

With the Warriors beginning their offseason earlier than expected, they received some good news regarding Klay's progression and rehab with his injury.

“Although it’s not guaranteed that Thompson will play the first game of the regular season, there haven’t been any setbacks in his recovery, according to league sources, and the Warriors expect that he will be a participant in training camp,” according to Wes Goldberg of The Mercury News.

That is a breath of fresh air for Dubs fans and for the team in general. After tearing his ACL in the 2019 NBA Finals, he has been gone for two whole seasons.

When healthy, the duo of Curry and Klay is the best in the game as both are knock-down shooters and two of the greatest to ever do it. The trio of Curry, Klay, and Draymond Green is tough to deal with, and the Warriors are also hopeful that rookie James Wiseman can take some huge leaps in his sophomore season.

It's been a frustrating road for Klay, who had been relatively healthy to start his career before back-to-back season-ending injuries that have forced him into rehab for years. A healthy Klay in the Warriors lineup will certainly throw them into consideration for one of the best teams in the Western Conference and they are hoping to make one last Final run before Steph and Klay fall out of their respective primes.
