Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson completed a successful surgery to repair his torn ACL in Los Angeles today, per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Warriors shooting guard tore his ACL in the decisive Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals, in which the Toronto Raptors defeated the Warriors to claim their first title in franchise history.

The Warriors re-signed Thompson this offseason to a megadeal — a max extension worth $190 million over five years.

It's unclear when Thompson will return to the hardwood. However, per Woj, Thompson's agent Greg Lawrence said his client is expected to follow a “standard” recovery time of five to seven months before making his debut in Golden State's new venue — the Chase Center.

The Warriors have made a flurry of moves this summer following their Finals defeat. The most notable, of course, is their sign-and-trade with Kevin Durant that landed them D'Angelo Russell.

In order to offload salary from the incoming Russell signing, the Warriors had to say farewell to distinguished veteran Andre Iguodala. Andre helped the franchise win its first championship in 30 years in 2015, earning Finals MVP honors for his performance in the six-game series. The Dubs are sending the 35-year-old swingman to the Memphis Grizzlies, along with a future first-round pick, to accommodate Russell's max contract.

In the meantime, they're hoping Thompson can still shoot like he used to going forward when he returns from ACL surgery.
