The Golden State Warriors may have missed the playoffs for the second straight year, but Klay Thompson promises things will change next season.

During another Instagram live session in his boat, the Warriors sharpshooter is not only predicting a return to the playoffs for the Dubs. According to Klay, the plan is to get that fourth championship since 2015.

“2022 NBA Champs” has a nice ring to it–one that should get all Warriors fan excited for next season.

The Warriors barely missed the 2021 playoffs, only losing out in the play-in tournament after finishing with the eight-best record in the West. In normal circumstances, they would have made the postseason.

Despite the failure, there are reasons to believe Golden State can contend for the title in 2021-22.

For one, Klay Thompson is expected to return full healthy after sitting out for the past two years. He suffered an ACL injury in the 2019 NBA Finals that cost him the 2019-20 campaign, and then ahead of the 2020-21 season, he sustained an Achilles injury. Rehab appears to be working well for Klay, and he should be ready when the new season starts.

Furthermore, Stephen Curry's show of dominance should also be an encouraging sign for the Warriors. At age 33, he still led the league in points per game (32.0), and he doesn't look like he's slowing down any time soon given his desire to bring another trophy to the city.

Of course, winning a championship is easier said than done. The Warriors know it the most. Nonetheless, fans should love this confidence coming from Klay and the rest of the team.
