It has been nearly 10 months since Klay Thompson was last on the court, lacing them up in the 2019 NBA Finals. His father, Mychal Thompson, gave an update on the Golden State Warriors sharpshooter's condition after tearing his left ACL.

Mychal went on Joe, Lo & Dibs on 95.7 The Game to discuss how Klay has managed to recover from his injury during a trying period of isolation:

“He's feeling good, he's working out on his own. He's doing all of his drills. He says he feels good,” said Mychal. “He walks around without any kind of limp, no kind of soreness. So he says he’s feeling great and he’ll be ready to go at full speed next year.”

Some expected Thompson to be able to return as the league went on a temporary hiatus amid the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, but those rumors were put to bed rather fast by the front office.

The plan is to have the sharpshooter ready to take on next season full steam ahead after allowing for a full 12-plus months of recovery.

It has been a long season for Thompson and a Warriors team that went from having the second-best record in the league and appearing in the NBA Finals to posting the worst record in the league with only 15 wins.

However, this will earn them a chance at a high draft pick, something they have not done since the early 2000s. That help would be surely welcome, considering the franchise allocated most of its funds to signing the trio of Stephen Curry, Thompson, and Draymond Green.
