Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr can already imagine how he will play Klay Thompson.

After two years of being sidelined, Warriors sharpshooter Klay Thompson is now finally nearing his NBA return. Conveniently, coach Kerr cited the Dubs' recent loss to the Phoenix Suns as a perfect example of how Thompson could help the team whenever Stephen Curry is off.

According to Kerr, he's expecting the same type of defense the Suns applied on Curry for the rest of the season, and it is good that the Warriors superstar has a wide array of options, including Thompson of course, when the defense is already all over him.

“When teams are going to commit people to Steph [Curry] the way that Phoenix did, there is going to be openings,” Kerr said postgame via NBC Sports.

“There is going to be openings for Jordan [Poole], openings for Otto [Porter Jr.], guys who have knocked down a bunch of threes, and there will be openings for Klay Thompson. It's going to be fun,” he added.

Santa Cruz Warriors head coach Seth Cooper, on the other hand, has provided an update on Thompson's performance during a recent practice. Based on Cooper's assessment, the five-time NBA All-Star “looked really good” the entire time.

“He’s cleared for full go, so everything we did was full 100% he was going,” Cooper said of Thompson. “There was no holding him back. There was no pulling back, it was just letting him go and letting him experience playing all out. He did that, and he looked really good doing it.”
