Klay Thompson's new contract with the Golden State Warriors reportedly has a 15 percent trade kicker, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Also known as trade bonuses, trade kickers represent extra cash a player can receive if his team trades him.

Anthony Davis waived his trade kicker worth $4 million after he was traded by the New Orleans Pelicans to the Los Angeles Lakers. That allowed the Lakers, who also made a trade with the Washington Wizards, to free up a third max slot.

It's hard to envision a scenario where the Warriors trade Klay Thompson. With Kevin Durant now in Brooklyn, Thompson becomes even more vital to the Dubs, who are going to be counted out by a lot of people next season since Durant is gone and Thompson will miss most of the year recovering from his left ACL injury.

This past season, Thompson averaged 21.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists for the Warriors, who lost to the Toronto Raptors in the NBA Finals in six games. The five-time All-Star shot 46.7 percent from the field, 40.2 percent from beyond the arc and 81.6 percent from the free-throw line.

The Warriors haven't announced when Thompson will have his ACL surgery. The date should be coming soon, though.
