Undrafted Boston College guard Ky Bowman has signed a two-way contract with the Golden State Warriors, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. This move was one in the works for some time, as Connor Letourneau of The San Francisco Chronicle reported the agreement between the two parties last month.

At 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, Bowman is a scoring guard with great aggression and a knack for defending well on and off the ball — a skill the Warriors have needed at the point guard position.

The newest addition to the roster has now taken one of the two available spots for a two-way contract. Shooting guard Damion Lee and power forward Marcus Derrickson took those designated places last season, and it remains unclear if one of them could be moved to the 15-man roster with a new agreement.

Lee, who is also Stephen Curry's brother-in-law, showed great potential last season during his time with the Warriors, often filling in at either guard spot, though it’s unclear if he will return next season, while Derrickson is unlikely to make his way back.

Warriors president Bob Myers also noted the team's second-round selection, 18-year-old Alen Smailagic, could need more time developing within the G League ranks, but he was signed into an official roster spot and will take part on the 15-man rotation.

Having waived Julian Washburn, a piece from the D'Angelo Russell sign-and-trade, the Warriors could choose to keep Lee on a two-way contract if both parties agree on the assignment.
