Portland Trail Blazers forward Carmelo Anthony is no longer the only Melo in the NBA, as Charlotte Hornets rookie LaMelo Ball has taken the league by storm this season. Aside from inadvertently taking Anthony's nickname, looks like the brash rookie is also stealing his celebration moves during their game against the Warriors as well.

This was noted by the Golden State Warriors' color-commentator on Friday after Ball hit the “three to the dome” sign after draining a long 3-pointer over Stephen Curry in the opening quarter of their respective teams match-up at Chase Center.

“I know they're both Melo, but come out with your own celebration. Be original,” he said.

Ouch.

I don't know about you, but that commentary sounded a bit too personal for me. After all, LaMelo Ball has been heavily linked as the Warriors' possible pick in last year's draft. But the Dubs went with positional need last season, opting to draft center James Wiseman second overall, while Melo was selected by the Hornets with the following pick.

The youngest of the Ball brood is currently the frontrunner for the Rookie of The Year honors, while Wiseman has been decent but has been left behind by Melo so far. Ball, meanwhile, is indeed free to celebrate buckets however he wants. But the Warriors broadcaster is probably right. He should leave the three fingers to the dome sign to the original Melo.
