The NBA Finals have been incredibly fascinating this year, with the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics going back and forth. The teams have alternated wins thus far, leaving the series tied 2-2 heading to Golden State for the crucial Game 5 Monday night. Typically, that would mean that the NBA Finals MVP award is still to be determined.

Well, if you ask Magic Johnson, that might not be the case this year.

The Lakers legend tweeted Sunday evening that he believes Warriors point guard Stephen Curry should win the award, regardless of which teams wins the series.

“I think no matter who wins the Golden State vs. Boston series, Steph Curry should be the MVP because he's been dominant in the first four games!”

Johnson certainly has a point. The Warriors superstar has easily been the best and most consistent player between both teams. During the NBA Finals, Curry is averaging over 34 points per game, to go along with 6.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.0 steals. He has been incredibly deadly from deep, sinking 25 three's through the first four games of the series. That includes the 43-point gem of a performance in Game 4 in what was basically a must-win game.

Meanwhile, the Celtics do not have a player that has been very consistent. Jaylen Brown would likely be the closest thing to an MVP this series. But he is posting 22 points per game on 44 percent shooting. There is no other Celtics player with close to consistent enough play to garner winning the award.

If Golden State wins the NBA Championship, Curry is a certainty to win the award. But if Boston wins, Curry would have to become only the second player ever to win NBA Finals MVP on the losing team. He would join the logo, Jerry West, who did it in 1969 for the Los Angeles Lakers in a loss to, yes, the Boston Celtics.
