Matt Barnes had a lot of things to get off his chest regarding his former teammate, Golden State Warriors superstar Kevin Durant's devastating injury in Game 5 of their Finals match-up against the Toronto Raptors.

In a post on Instagram, the former player blasted the media's hypocrisy when they said that Durant shouldn't have played Game 5, after most analysts and TV show hosts called for him to return to action prior to the do-or-die contest.

Barnes was obviously having none of the sympathy that the media reporters and analysts showed in the aftermath of the injury.

In case you were under a rock over the past two days, Durant suffered a major Achilles injury in his first game back in over a month. The former MVP previously sustained a calf strain Game 5 of their Western semi-finals series against the Houston Rockets and hasn't played or even gone through a full practice since.

With the Warriors on the brink of losing the championship, many called on Durant to come back in Game 5 and try to help save their season. Now that this injury happened, it's clear that Durant wasn't ready to return on the floor.

Durant admitted in the past that he takes time to read all these articles and criticisms about him. Given this fact, Durant surely heard all the chatter and noise in the lead up to Game 5. It's possible that this could have weighed in on his decision to return, despite obviously not feeling a hundred percent.

His sacrifice and decision to give it a go eventually came with a hefty price in the form of a potentially career-changing injury.

Nonetheless, Durant's previously wrinkled image with the fans may have been ironed out a bit with the way he valiantly fought to be with his brothers in the battle of their lives.

One thing's for sure, KD isn't to blame for any of this.
