Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson didn't make an All-NBA Team this season and so was made ineligible on a super max contract when he hits free agency this summer. However, his father Mychal Thompson says it's okay.

Thompson lost a shot at an extra $31 million in his next contract. He would have gotten a five-year deal worth $221 million had he made an All-NBA Team. Now, the most the Warriors can offer him is a five-year, $190 million contract.

Nonetheless, Mychal says that with the money NBA players are making today, losing out on an extra $31 million shouldn't be a concern for Klay. The Los Angeles Lakers icon added that there's no reason for the Warriors sharpshooter to have any quibble given that many people can only dream about the money NBAers are receiving.

“Yeah, it’s a lot of money,” Mychal Thompson told Tim Kawakami of The Athletic. “But when you are talking about the astronomical numbers that the best NBA players make, you can’t quibble over it because you’re still making generational-changing money. Too many people out there struggling in the world to make ends meet for anybody to be whining about not making $30 million more.”

It's worth noting that Klay was recently caught on video showing a visibly frustrated reaction after hearing he didn't make it to an All-NBA Team. While he managed to hold back before emphasizing that his focus is on winning the title, it's clear that the results didn't sit will with the five-time All-Star.

Missing out on millions may not be a big deal for Mychal — and for a good reason — but it might be harder for Klay given that it reflects his market value in the league. The Warriors could only hope that it will give Thompson a much-needed fire heading to the Finals.
