NBA executives reportedly believe veteran small forward Trevor Ariza is a perfect match for the Golden State Warriors, but that money could ultimately be an issue, according to Jordan Brenner of The Athletic.

Ariza becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer. He made $15 million this past season with the Phoenix Suns and Washington Wizards.

The Warriors are expected to re-sign shooting guard Klay Thompson, but the All-Star guard will likely miss the entire 2019-20 season with an ACL injury. Star Kevin Durant is also expected to miss all of next season after rupturing his right Achilles tendon. Many believe Durant won't be back with Golden State anyway.

Several executives mentioned Trevor Ariza as a perfect match for the Warriors, but Ariza is likely to command better offers from other teams, so he’d have to be willing to leave money on the table.

Ariza is a good 3&D wing who will probably be pursued by multiple contenders this offseason. The 33-year-old would have to take a pay cut to play for the Warriors, who are going to look like a different team next season sans Thompson and Durant.

Ariza averaged 12.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game this season with the Suns and Wizards. He shot 39.9 percent from the field, 33.4 percent from beyond the arc and 79.3 percent from the free-throw line.
