Kevin Durant expressed his initial reaction to watching former Golden State Warriors teammate Stephen Curry break his left hand during Wednesday's game against the Phoenix Suns.

The now-Brooklyn Nets star admitted it was a tough blow to watch his former teammate exit the game with the injury.

“Luckily, it wasn’t anything more serious than that, especially seeing Klay [Thompson] out for the whole season and myself out for the whole year,” Durant said on the set of ESPN's First Take.

“I’m sure he’ll be back playing again, but it was tough to see him just break his hand on TV. He’s been doing so much and the team is still transitioning and it’s a new group and a young group, so he’s trying to do so much. Having him out is going to be tough for them to sustain, so hopefully he gets back and gets healthy.”

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski hinted that the Warriors won't expect Curry back for at least a couple of months, regardless of the route they choose to go with after his CT scan on Thursday morning.

Curry could either have his left hand put in a cast or opt for surgery if there's further damage to the area.

The Warriors have now suffered injuries to their three best players in the span of six games, starting with Durant in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, Klay Thompson in Game 6, and now Curry in Game 4 of a brutal 82-game regular season.
