Golden State Warriors reserve guard Nick Young has been cleared to play again after passing the NBA’s concussion protocol, per Melissa Rohlin of The Mercury News.

This means that Young is all set to play Monday on the road against his former team, the Los Angeles Lakers, at Staples Center.

Nick Young was sidelined for last Thursday’s home game against the Dallas Mavericks, though the Warriors didn’t need his help in disposing of Dirk Nowitzki and company, 112-97. The 32-year-old shooting guard sustained the said concussion in a previous game against the Portland Trail Blazers last Monday during which he was able to score 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field in just 13 minutes of action before exiting the contest for good in the third quarter.

While Young hasn’t been a key component of the Warriors for most of this season, the 10-year veteran could see an increase in his usage Monday against the Lakers with Golden State missing the services of Stephen Curry and Shaun Livingston.

Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson will continue to carry most of the load on offense for the Warriors while Curry is out, but Young should find enough scoring opportunities to make the Lakers feel his presence.

On the season, Nick Young is averaging 6.8 points per game on 45.7 percent shooting from the field and 41.4 percent conversion rate from deep while playing 13.1 minutes.
