It has been three years now that Nick Young's relationship with D'Angelo Russell has been on rocky terms (maybe nonexistent ones), ever since a prank gone wrong made the two mortal enemies during the 2015-16 season. It seems Young hasn't found it in him to forgive Russell for a joke in bad taste that ultimately cost him a marriage to Iggy Azalea.

Young joined Damon Bruce on his show on 95.7 The Game, telling the host a very simple “nah” when asked if he and his former Los Angeles Lakers teammate are cool now:

Bruce: “You don't have to answer this if you don't want. Have you squashed whatever beef you had with D'Angelo Russell?

Young: “Oh nah, he's closer to L.A. now, right? Nah we can't be cool … There's no coming back from that.”

A 20-year-old Russell infamously recorded a conversation in which Young admitted to cheating on then-fiancee Iggy Azalea. The video, which was meant as a prank, got out, with Russell not certain of how it did.

In Young's perspective, the video shouldn't even have been recorded to begin with, and Azalea quickly called off the engagement and her relationship with the 6-foot-7 wing.

Young's teammates gave Russell the cold shoulder and alienated him for his behavior, quickly siding with Young in this ordeal.

Russell and Young would finish out the season and play the next one together as well, but the former would be traded to the Brooklyn Nets in 2017, while Young made his way to the Warriors on a one-year, $5.3 million deal for the mid-level exception.

It seems neither player has reached out to mend fences, yet they have traded places now, with Russell receiving a beefy four-year, $117 million deal to play for the Warriors in the wake of Kevin Durant's departure.
