Free agent guard Nick Young will receive his championship ring before the Golden State Warriors face the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night.

Young was part of the Warriors last season, and he averaged 7.3 points and 1.6 rebounds per game. Golden State, which was already one of the best 3-point shooting teams the previous season, added the veteran shooter, hoping that he could provide consistent production off the bench.

But the 33 year-old guard was in and out of the rotation last year, as the Warriors preferred to give more minutes to their younger players, particularly Patrick McCaw and Jordan Bell.

Golden State chose not to re-sign Young this season, and he hasn't been able to find a permanent home since. He was brought in by the Denver Nuggets back in December, but was waived after playing just four games. He scored a total of nine points during that span.

Prior to joining the Warriors, Young was one of the best and most consistent shooters in the league as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. He immediately became a household name in LA because of his colorful personality off the court and stellar shooting on the court. However, injuries and issues with former teammate D'Angelo Russell forced the Lakers to move on from them both.

The 11-year veteran has career averages of 11.4 points and 2.0 rebounds.

Young hasn't given up on the NBA yet. He will most likely work this summer to improve and hope to be able to find a new team next season.
