SAN FRANCISCO — The Golden State Warriors moved to an NBA-best 21-4 record with a win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday night. Things couldn't be going better for Otto Porter Jr. and his teammates.

“I am just along for the ride like you are. It is amazing, but we know what we are capable of, and it is just a matter of us coming out and doing it every night. We have to take it one game at a time. Whoever is out there, we have to focus on Warriors basketball,” Porter told ClutchPoints.

Porter is averaging 7.5 points and 4.7 rebounds while shooting 45.2 percent from the field and an impressive 42.7 percent from deep. In Wednesday's Warriors win against the Blazers, Porter scored 15 points off the bench, knocking down 4-of-6 of his attempts from 3-point range to help his team on a night Stephen Curry struggled with his shooting.

“We have a lot of guys that can get hot at any moment of the game on any given night. Whoever has it going, we try to get them good looks, but as a team, we try to rely on our defense to get us good looks,” Porter said.

The addition of Porter this offseason on a bargain deal has paid off big time. He's a reliable shooter who holds his own on defense. The biggest question was his health after several injury-ravaged seasons with the Chicago Bulls, but so far, things are looking pretty good in his role off the bench. He's playing at a high level and should continue to get better. He says he's taking it one day at a time and working closely with the trainers to stay on top of it to make sure he stays healthy throughout a long season and into the playoffs.
