Los Angeles Clippers guard Patrick Beverley temporarily became a thorn in the side of Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant this postseason. He is hoping they can keep it going in the playoffs for years to come.

There has been plenty of speculations regarding Durant's free agent status following the 2018-19 NBA season. In an appearance on ESPN's The Jump, however, Beverley that he would like for him to play in the same conference.

Beverley's comments should hardly come as any surprise. Their spat during the opening round of the playoffs made headlines, as the Clippers managed to extend their showdown to six games. Although Beverley was able to limit Durant's production to start the series, it was only a matter of time before the Warriors' star found his rhythm.

While it is no secret that Durant is set to test the market this offseason, Beverley may have indicated his status as a free agent with his comments. He is also slated to test the waters of free agency, but it appears he intends to stay in Los Angeles — or at least in the West.

Although the scrappy veteran would like to keep the matchup going, it is safe to say he would like for it to be on more even terms. It will be interesting to see if Durant ultimately grants Beverley his wish.
