It's hard to believe that Golden State Warriors wingman Patrick McCaw is already a two-time champion, considering his two-year tenure in the league. Not like he was the main piece in a team that featured names like Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson, but what is not displayed (and what doesn't really explain his impact) in his last season averages of 4.0 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game while shooting a 40 percent clip from the field.

He may not need to make huge offensive strides with the All-star firepower in tow but as a sizable wing who is a comfortable and a more than capable defender, he is a nice piece that the Warriors look forward to resigning moving forward.

Lately, the clock is ticking on both the Warriors and McCaw on his restricted free agency. There might seem to be an impasse in the discussions somewhere.

According to ESPN's Marc J. Spears, McCaw has plans of turning the offer down.

In the long line of players who have bet on themselves this season by turning down contracts, the young wingman may be headed in that direction as well. Although his injuries may have been a factor regarding the Warriors offer, make no doubt that the Bay Area franchise wants their versatile young player back in the fold.

Granted that, other teams surely would not mind giving him a heftier contract with his championship pedigree and near three-and-D mold. If things do not get ironed out quickly, we might see a McCaw-less Warriors this season.
