Patrick McCaw still might re-sign with the Golden State Warriors, but if he does, he'll need to get used to a new look. According to Logan Murdock of the Mercury News, McCaw is aware that DeMarcus Cousins is taking the No. 0 and McCaw will have no problem wearing a different number.

The former second-round pick out of UNLV wore No. 0 for his first two seasons in the league. This could be a signal from the Warriors that they have no interest in bringing back McCaw. But perhaps that's reading too much into the situation.

Boogie may have seen the list of available jersey numbers and picked No. 0 without knowing it was McCaw's jersey for the past two seasons. To be fair, Boogie Cousins is an All-Star and McCaw is a third-year rotational player. If Boogie wants his number, he's taking it.

McCaw's career numbers of 4.0 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game are mediocre at best. But McCaw's a willing defender who has no problem filling a role. That's a valuable asset on a star-laden team like the Warriors.

This jersey controversy—if you can even call it a controversy—showcases McCaw's willingness to put the team first. Maybe that's a stretch, but the guy probably just wants to win another championship.

If that means changing jerseys, so be it. McCaw knows that Boogie's addition vaulted Golden State to the heavy favorites next year and McCaw could be looking for his third straight ring. Perhaps Golden State moves on from McCaw, but regardless, the door is still open for a possible reunion.
