Draymond Green was the first Golden State Warriors player to hit the showers Friday night in Phoenix after he got tossed out from the playing court in a game against the Phoenix Suns.

During a break at the end of the third period of the contest, Green could be seen going near the Suns' bench to argue with the ref and talk some junk to folks over at Phoenix’s side. That’s when one of the referees decided that it’s time for the game to rid itself of the combative power forward.

At the point of the game, the Suns were leading the Warriors by three points, 85-82, and it’s possible that the fact that the defending NBA champions lagging behind arguably the worst team in the league had something to do with Green’s explosion. Green called it a night with 13 points on 5-for-7 shooting from the field, four rebounds, three assists, a block, and four turnovers in 26 minutes of action.

The former Michigan State Spartans star entered the showdown with the Suns averaging 6.9 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 7.3 assists over their last three games.

With Green temporarily out, the Warriors are giving increased minutes to DeMarcus Cousins, who’ll get help on the frontcourt from Jonas Jerebko and Kevon Looney along with Kevin Durant.

Green should have a cooler head when the Warriors take on the Miami Heat at home this coming Sunday. He now has 10 technical fouls on the season.
