Quinn Cook is getting some limelight in the NBA after being rostered by the Golden State Warriors via a two-way deal. He should receive even more attention going forward, as he is now the first and only player in the history of the G League to shoot 50/40/90, via Ian Pierno of Slam.

Quinn Cook became the first player in the G-League’s (formerly the D-League) 17-year history to shoot at least 50 percent from the field, 40 percent from 3 and 90 percent from the free throw line in a season.

Cook has been turning heads with his play in the G League, where he played 29 games this season for the Santa Cruz Warriors, averaging 23.3 points, 6.6 assists, and 4.3 rebounds. For the record, he shot 48.5 percent from the field, 39.3 percent from behind the arc, and 89.8 (90.0 when rounded off) percent from the foul line per Basketball Reference.

Although the nature of his current contract with the Golden State Warriors does not assure him of a return next season, Quinn Cook is definitely capitalizing on the opportunity. With the Warriors suffering a number of injuries to their key players, Golden State has been forced to resort to its peripheral pieces for on-court production. That includes Cook, who has been playing of late as though he is back to his days as a Duke Blue Devil.

Over his last six games in the NBA, Cook has averaged 16.7 points on a fantastic 60 percent shooting from the field to go with 4.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists. That stretch includes his 30-point explosion, albeit in a 116-107 home loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Mar. 29.
